It’s fair to say that it’s not been the most eventful week to choose to start this new project – but all the same I’ve taken a photo from my day every day and posted it online for you all to see and now here’s my favourite of this week.
Perhaps not the most flattering shot of me, but I’ve posted this more because I’ve not mentioned Comic relief yet this year.
I’ve been amazed by the support that we the British public have shown this year. Over £74 million was raised yesterday – a record for Red Nose Day. That’s incredible when we’re constantly being told we are in a recession. This small fact has stopped no-one from digging deep and giving loads of cash. I think it’s a moment that we can really be proud that we have come together and genuinely made a massive difference to the live of those less well off than us. Well done Great Britain.
As for the show, well it was under-rehearsed, felt clunky, looked cheaply made and only a small part of it was funny (Alan Partridge, Doctor Who and surprisingly James Corden), but that’s not the point – it’s the cash that matters.
Oh and best thing about Comic Relief 2011 – easily Chris Moyles and Dave Vitty claiming the longest radio show ever. Compelling listening and viewing – would love to replicate that one day…
